Some of the most beautiful tourist places in Alba de Tormes

One of the important provinces of Spain Salamanca is the small town Alba de Tormes and this town is located on the banks of the famous river tormes. This town is one of the prized collections of Salamanca province, as some tourists put it. The city is known for its rich vegetation and most beautiful environment. There are many important buildings of historical importance and the town has now become a popular tourist place as well.

Patio de las Escuelas:

This beautiful building built with the traditional Salamancan Platersque design is believed to have been built in the year 1218. The building now hosts a university which has more than 7000 students. Interestingly, the building has the Gothic architecture at the entrance. The first floor of the building has the Baroque design and it is believed to have been renovated during the 18th century. This is one most important buildings of the city.

Church of San Juan:

This church known for its imposing beauty is believed to have been built in the 12th century. The important feature of this church is the sculpture which depicts Christ sitting with 12 of his disciples who have sat around him in a semi-circle. The expressions of all the disciples are almost identical in terms of the nobility and faithfulness. Apart from this, there are many other works of sculpture and art and it is certainly a place which should never be missed.

Plaza Mayor: This unbelievably beautiful building is believed to have been built during the years 1729-1755 by Philip V as a commemoration of his loyalty to the King during the Spanish war of succession. The traditional Spanish architecture has been adopted for construction of this building. On the one hand the government of Salamanca has taken pains to preserve and maintain this beautiful building and on the other hand, it has allowed some café, restaurant, shops in the traditional Spanish style around the building. The tourists can enjoy the drinks or taste the traditional food in the midst of this beautiful building.

Old Cathedral:

This beautiful Romanseque cathedral has San Martin Chapel which is believed to have been built in 13th century. Aranjuez - Spain

Located at a distance of about 48 kilometers of Madrid, this small town is known for its historic buildings. It is also popular for its beautiful weather. The town lies at the confluence of the rivers Jarama and Tagus, the two great rivers of Spain. Being the river bed, Aranjuez is rich in vegetation and therefore it has pleasant weather. The weather is so pleasant that it became the official residence of kings during spring season. Some of the interesting places of visit in Aranjuez are briefly discussed here:

The prince garden:

True to its name, the garden is really princely in appearance; such is the beauty of this garden. The garden is believed to have been built by Phillip II in the year 1561. Similar parks have been built in other parts of Madrid and some of those parks are relatively larger in size. But, the Prince garden in Aranjuez is something unique because it has collection of some of the rarest species of trees, and the garden is located on the river bed which makes the garden look more beautiful. The Labrador palace which is located inside the park is another interesting place to see. The palace has a vessel museum. The Royal embankment, flower garden are the other places of attraction inside the palace.

Peasant’s house:

Although called ‘Peasant’s house’, this is the palace built by Carlos IV during the year 1805. According to historical records the king built the palace to spend weekends. This palace is just about 2 kilometers from the main palace. Peasant’s house has ball room, billiards room, platinum room etc. The aesthetic beauty of the palace makes it very popular amongst tourists.

Convent of San Pascual:

This monastery is believed to have been built in 1765 by King Charles III. This is actually a Franciscan monastery and dedicated to the conceptioninst nuns. The monastery is known for its beautiful architectural design from the famous Italian Architect by name Fancesco Sabatini. The main altar of the monastery is intricately designed and it contains some of the rare paintings by Anton Raphael.

Other places of interest:

The other places of interest include the bull fighting museum, Alpajes church, the town hall, the pleasure craft museum, the house of Infantes ande Atarfe, the old Saint Charles hospital, Medinaceli Palace, Silvela's Palace, location vacances espagne etc. There are also other parks like the Isle garden, Parterre Garden etc which are all known for their beautiful environment.

Costa Calida is famous for Sunny Summers

The end part in the south of Costa Blanca Region in Spain is known as Costa Calida. There are few cities and towns in this part of Spain. La Manga is the most famous city in this region of Spain. Another famous city is Cartagena which also has many famous attractions for its visitors. Costa Calida is famous because it has hot and sunny summers. Similarly the winters in the area are having mild temperature. That kind of atmosphere is not there in most parts of Europe.

There are visitors in Costa Calida from all parts of Europe and from the rest of the world. There are foreign settlements in the area in huge numbers. There are foreigners from other countries that have purchased lots of houses and apartments in the area for spending vacations. They visit the place every now and then for having some great days whenever it’s convenient for them. There are many good retirement accommodations available especially near the coastal areas.

Costa Calida face high competition from some other regions of Spain. For that reason it has slightly less visitors in comparison with Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca. However that makes it peaceful, neat and clean in comparison with such areas. It has a great uniqueness in atmosphere which is admired by many visitors to the place. In the coming years the place might get more popularity for the same reasons.

The people that know Costa Calida from any reference keep visiting it again and again. The area has visitors from other Spanish cities more in comparison with international visitors. For many people it is an ideal place for spending summer vacations. The summer months are usually very crowded in the Costa Calida region for the same reasons. The beaches in the area have all kinds of water sports facilities available. Visitors enjoy and they have fun the same way they have in many other parts of the world.

Costa Calida is easily reachable by road. It can be approached by air also because the Airport is only at a distance of 100km from the place. The staying options at the place are great. Sagrada Familia in Barcelona

Sagrada Familia is a magnificent structure that took quite some years to complete. It is the most visited place in Barcelona and when you plan your trip to Barcelona, do not forget to go to this place. The designer of this building was Antonio Gaudi, and it was under construction for almost 100 years. The reasons for the delay of completing this building are due to non availability of funds, political developments and many more. The architectural beauty of this building will leave you mesmerized and take you to a total different world. As the building has been built over several years, you will get a glimpse of the history of various years.

The architecture does not depict any one particular style, but is fusion of various styles over the many years. This is a temple that is designed and constructed by Gaudi. The construction of this building started in 1883 and went on until 1926, the year Gaudi expired. The building has been constructed by Gaudi in order to pay tribute to the holy family in Barcelona.

With so many pillars and lot of intricate works, this structure itself is a great piece of artwork and architecture. Many parts of the building still require construction and finesse, but the overall structure is almost done. You can get a good view of this building from the park nearby. It can easily be the tallest church in the whole world. However, the completion of this church was expected to be only in 2026, yet most of it has been done now itself.

Though you can see many styles of architecture, but predominantly gothic style is present and that makes this a truly marvelous piece of art. The building has been consecrated as Minor basilica by the Pope Benedict XVI. The exterior of the building has many carvings and one of them also depicts the crucification of Jesus. The time taken for its completion is justifiable, as many very intricate designs and sculptures adorn this building. Basically, there are three facades called the Easter facade or nativity facade, on the west is the Passion facade and on the south lays the Glory facade. Glory facade which was started in the year 2002 is going to be the biggest monument in the world. You also find the eight apostles of Jesus in an ascending order. Punta Umbria

The place is majestically located between Huelva and the Atlantic Ocean. There are a number of beaches that is worth a visit. Though many of the places at Punta

Umbria are known for historical importance, beaches are something that you will really enjoy. The beaches contain golden sand and are a magnificent sight as you walk on these sandy beaches. You could view the sunrise and sunset from these clean and exotic beaches.

The beaches are well-maintained and you will be amazed by its clean and serene atmosphere, despite the crowd of tourists. The beach has a blue flag that represents the European Union standard for quality of water and cleanliness, facilities at the beach. Near this locality, you also find natural environments that are well-protected like Laguna del Portil, Marismas del Odiel and Enebrales Punta Umbria.

Laguna del Portil is a great lake and has some rare species of birds inhabiting this region. When you go to this lake, you could witness the chirping of the birds and also get a glimpse of many such species that you would not have seen before. One of the noteworthy points of this lake is the chameleon of a rare species that is in the endangered list. So do get a glimpse of such rare species of birds and animals, when you happen to visit this lake.

Marismas del Odiel is another wetland that is spread across 17.7 acres of land. This is a protected home for many species of birds. As these birds migrate from Europe to Africa and vice versa, they settle down in this place as a transit destination. Do not forget to get your binoculars along with you, as you will need them to catch the sight of such birds. Enebrales Punta Umbria is known for its extensive juniper forests that are spread across 29.65 acres of land.

Punta Umbria had many inhabitants, right from Greeks to Romans and many more. Fishing was the main profession during that period and you could still find their remains in many places. There is a mining company called Rio Tinto that was developed by the British during the 19th century. The place became a beach resort for the British.

Excursions in Pamplona

Saint James:

This area contains one of the most religious and sacred place called Chapel of Holy Ghost. There are no traces found in the historical literature about the origin of this Chapel, but according to some estimates, the construction of this chapel was during the 12th century. The location of this chapel is at the top of a cave and inside the cave, they buried the pilgrims who died during their journey to the chapel. Santiago Chapel is also located near this Holy Ghost Chapel.

Viana:

Viana is another medieval village, once declared as princedom by the famous King Charles III. This town also contains Cesar Borgia tomb of the famous army commander of the Navarra Army. This tomb has two big halls, constructed during the 17th century and one of the halls serves as a venue for the bullfighting events today.

Puente la Reina:

This is the best and beautiful village in Spain. There are many beautiful sites in this village, including a bridge built during the 11th century and the city centre that is enclosed by walls.

Eastern Valleys of Pamplona:

Roncal Valley:

This is a beautiful valley, sheltered between the hills and many mountain peaks with a height of two thousand meters and more.

Salazar Valley:

Ochagavia is the highlight of Salazar Valley, as this place is famous for its romantic atmosphere with some beautiful landscape views. There are many monuments in this valley and one of them is Basilika de Mausoleum, which was constructed in the 13th century during the Roman era. Roncal, Belagua and Isaba are other wonderful places to visit in this beautiful valley.

Southern Valleys of Pamplona:

Your exploration of the valleys in the east of Pamplona can begin with the visit to Tafalla. Tafalla is located at a distance of thirty -five kilometers from the city of Pamplona. There are many historical places in this area, including Conde de Guendulain, Marques de Feria and the famous Santa Maria Church.

Olite is another historical place in the area, which has a fortress built by the king of Navarra.

Ujue is another small town where there are many monuments belonging to the middle era. You will find many slender streets in the town and a church which is fortificated.
